Salary Negotiation Tip and Insights
Many people become nervous at the thought of having to negotiate. Questions often arise such as “How to start the negotiation process?”, “What to ask for?” “How to ask for it?”, “What approach should I use?” What can I ask for? etc,. This seminar will provide an overview of the negotiation process and will provide guidance for how to navigate questions such as these. This seminar will focus mostly on advice for industry job offers, but advice for academic offers will also be provided. This seminar will provide an overview of various components of a job offer, including base salary, bonus, equity, benefits, and other details that make up the “total package” and how to evaluate these for your negotiation strategy. Details will also be provided regarding how to identify salary ranges for a given field/role in order to inform your negotiation strategy. Different approaches for salary negotiation will be discussed as well as offer acceptance timeframes.
