Lauren will be presenting to trainees at NINDS on "How to be Competitive for the Industry Job Market". A description of the seminar is:
How to be competitive for the industry job market
This seminar provides advice for how to identify and develop skills during graduate training and
postdoctoral research in order to be competitive for industry positions. This seminar focuses on skills
needed for various career paths including research roles and non‐research positions such as consulting,
business development, writing, outreach, clinical research, and medical affairs. This seminar will provide
advice for how to develop many of these skills while performing your research while also providing
examples for how to build skills outside of the lab (if needed). This seminar discusses soft skills that all
industry roles are looking for – including teamwork, collaboration, leadership, and communication and
how to highlight these experiences to the hiring team.
