October 6th Women in Life Sciences Event: Summary from careinnovators

Careinnovators http://www.careinnovators.com was proud to co-host "Women Leaders in Life Sciences" with Propel Careers https://www.propelcareers.com and Gene Network Sciences http://www.gnsbiotech.com/ last week. With about 100 people attending, the diverse panel shared practical advice applicable to anyone. Thanks to the amazing panel for their time and advice, Bingham McCutchen http://www.bingham.com for providing the venue, and to all the attendees for coming!

Moderating the event was Laurie Halloran, CEO and Managing Partner, Halloran Consulting Group.

The panelists included Diane K. Jorkasky, M.D., Chief Medical Officer & SVP, Head of Development, Aileron Therapeutics; Ellen Baron, Ph.D., Partner, Oxford Bioscience Partners; and Lindsay McNair, MD, MPH, Principal and Owner, Equipoise Consulting LLC.

The women discussed several topics including: What's more important: power of position or power of influence, characteristics of a good leader, centered leadership, why mentors and advocates are key, how to balance work and life, tips for transitioning from academia to industry. careinnovators will be posting a video soon for the event.
