Internships and short term projects

Propel Careers Career Development Services
As a benefit to our network, Propel Careers provides career development services to that we can assist in the development of individuals in our network. The industry knowledge of the Propel Careers members is extremely beneficial to providing insight into the industry, relevance of skill sets especially transferrable skills, and knowledge of companies and roles which could be appropriate to an individual. Through these activities, Propel Careers provides personal interaction to understand your career interests, goals, and aspirations.  These services can be priced a la carte, or as a package depending upon the needs of each individual that we work with. Please contact Lauren Celano at Lauren@propelcareers.com to discuss working with Propel Careers:   
 
Resume review, critique, and revision: Propel Careers will create a resume or review your current resume and revise it based upon our feedback and industry knowledge, discussions of your skills and experience, and the relevance to the positions being sought. This process generally occurs over a series of discussions with you to ensure we are highlighting your relevant skills. The deliverable can be either a general resume, or a specific resume tailored to a certain job description, depending upon the needs of the individual. 
 
- Cover letter review, critique, and revision: Propel Careers will create a cover letter or review your current cover letter and revise it based upon our feedback and industry knowledge, discussions of your skills and experience, and the relevance to the positions being sought. This process generally occurs over a series of discussions with you to ensure we are highlighting your relevant skills. The deliverable can be either a general cover letter, or a specific cover letter tailored to a certain job description, depending upon the needs of the individual. 
 
- Interview preparation: Propel Careers will assist with preparation for both informational interviews and job related interviews to ensure that you are prepared and presented in the best light. For the informational interview preparation, this guidance assists to ensure that you are maximizing the interviews to obtain relevant information from the questions being asked to assist you in your career search. For job interview preparation, Propel Careers guidance provides assistance in coaching you through the interview process and helps to refine focus answers to potential interview questions. 
 
Identification of opportunities: Propel Careers will talk with you about how to prepare a search strategy to identify the relevant roles and/or companies which could be a good fit for you given your background and interests.  This includes strategy on informational interviewing, company outreach, and using LinkedIn. Propel Careers can also work with you to identify the relevant skill sets that you bring to each company, opportunity, and role.
 
Networking Insights: Based upon your career interests and goals, Propel Careers can work with you to identify networking opportunities to attend and organizations which would be relevant for you to become involved with to increase your network and build relationships with individuals in the areas you are interested in and/or already working in. Propel Careers can also provide best practices for how to effectively network and follow up with connections made to increase the value of the relationship.
 
Insight into building a suitable on-line presence: Propel Careers will personally provide guidance into building an on line presence on sites such as LinkedIn, twitter, facebook, and blogging sites so that your experiences and background are highlighted in a professional manner and so that your thought leadership will shine through. A proper on-line presence is critical to building your professional brand and allowing companies and recruiters to find you as relevant opportunities become available.
