Testimonials

Propel Careers is providing value to the companies, universities, and students who we are working with.  Below are a few testimonials highlighting the benefits of working with Propel Careers.

TerraVerdae BioWorks is an emerging company focused on the sustainable bioproducts space. With all the challenges of launching a new technology company in the rapidly emerging biocleantech space and under current trying economic conditions, I have been extremely fortunate to connect with Propel Careers who have been a tremendous resource in helping us find high caliber technical interns to fill important short term roles. I think Lauren Celano's goals and vision for her company fills a key void in the startup space and I think the connections that she has made for us have been a real benefit in our development.
William C. Bardosh, President & CEO, TerraVerdae BioWorks

We have worked with Propel 3 different times for very different interns. Each time we were provided with very high quality skillsets within a few days that were "spot-on" for the assignment requirements. Our first intern became a full time employee within 3 months, and we are extremely pleased with the results--and the fact that she came with an MBA has been invaluable in giving us new ideas on how to approach our business growth strategies
Laurie A. Halloran, BSN, MS, President & CEO, Halloran Consulting Group, Inc

We were looking for an intern who could fill a particular niche. Our early stage company, Eutropics Pharmaceuticals, is developing a companion diagnostic platform to guide our oncology therapeutic. With a thirst for capital efficient help we looked to Propel for help in identifying a qualified Business Development Intern. We were not disappointed in the result, in fact I was totally amazed at how well suited the intern’s (Bridget Moore) background in in vitro diagnostics assay development was to what we needed. Bridget has already provided a unique contribution to Eutropics and is likely to continue to do that as she continues her MBA and beyond.  Thanks to Propel for helping out. We will certainly look to them again as we need intern help.

In adapting to changes in the economic environment, Institute for Pediatric Innovation (IPI) needed to staff a strategic planning initiative in a timely manner. IPI is an early stage nonprofit organization developing medical device and drug products for pediatric care. We needed help from people with MBA training and domain expertise in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries respectively. Propel Careers provided us with several appropriate candidates within days, three of whom we were able to engage productively. We accomplished our planning effort on time. The field research carried out by one of the interns that Propel Careers provided uncovered a potentially transformative opportunity for IPI. Propel will be a great asset to us going forward.
Don Lombardi, CEO Institute for Pediatric Innovation

Propel Careers provided us with an exceptional intern who was able to hit the ground running and focus on the project at hand. He was able to provide tremendous insight into market potential and provided a very detailed and comprehensive assessment of our therapeutic space

I got in contact with Propel Careers while doing postdoctoral research in the medical device space at Brigham and Women's Hospital. I wanted to transition my career into a more entrepreneurial role but having been so long in academia, I really didn't know how to go about doing it. Propel provided an amazing mentor and an insightful internship opportunity. My mentor helped me structure some clear career paths that I could pursue and he introduced me to some of his colleagues in my fields of interest. The internship opportunity at the Institute of Pediatric Innovations got me immersed in the operations of a very innovative organization which aims to improve pediatric medical care through the development of new products and drug reformulations, which was a great learning experience. Another fantastic thing about Propel is their events. They bring together students, researchers, employees from both start-ups and large corporations, venture professionals and a great variety of people involved in the life sciences field. It has really helped me to learn about the industry and to understand better the value of fostering my own network, especially when trying to transition careers. I would definitely recommend the events to anyone who is interested in the life sciences arena! I can definitely say that Propel Careers has been an immensely valuable resource and has really helped me move forward with my career.

Propel Careers enabled me to connect with an exciting life sciences company developing a personalized medicine approach using a targeted therapeutic with a companion diagnostic. This experience allowed me to utilize my science training and work experience gained before my MBA as well as the skills learned during my MBA to positively impact the company. My project involved enhancing the business plan and strategy for the company – a very worthwhile project. Thanks to Propel Careers, I was able to make this connection and strengthen my own network in the life sciences.

The internship experience was extremely valuable as I was able to contribute to a non- profit life sciences company which provided insight into progressing my career. The most valuable part of the experience was that this was a mini consulting project which provided me the ability to apply my knowledge and meet some incredible high level executive contacts in the life sciences industry" Without Propel Careers, I would not have been able to find this position. I am thankful for them for their network of great companies.

I cannot thank Lauren at Propel Careers enough! I first found out about Propel Careers, when Lauren forwarded my resume to the Mass Life Sciences Program and helped me land an internship at Alzcor Pharmaceuticals, a start-up developing disease modifying therapies for Alzheimer’s disease patients. My internship at Alzcor allowed me to gain some start-up experience, develop a very unique set of skills, and work closely with the CEO of Alzcor, Mark Marchionni. Not only did this internship boost my resume, but the start-up atmosphere allowed me to interact with leaders in the Healthcare industry, giving me an experience many seasoned professionals would be jealous of!   Lauren also connected me with Stuart Bennett in London, who is currently mentoring me for a role within the financial industry. As Propel Careers states, “The mission of Propel Careers is to cultivate talent to produce the next generation of successful leaders and entrepreneurs, by connecting students with companies for value added internships and through mentoring.” I believe this organization has done a fantastic job of living up to its admirable mission, by connecting talented individuals with internships where they can make a difference.

As I explored options for summer internships, I was looking for smaller life sciences companies, but these are harder to find. It seems that smaller companies are late to the recruiting game when it comes to seeking interns, so it was nice to have you Propel Careers to facilitate matching. Without Propel Careers and their network of smaller exciting companies I would not have been able to find my summer internship project which was a market assessment for a VC backed oncology biotech company in the Boston area.

Propel Careers truly matched my skills and expectations with the company’s objectives for my internship experience. Until recently, I had not considered the life sciences industry for my post-MBA career. I am hooked now. In particular, I love the constant industry advancement that requires everybody to be on their toes at all times. My internship has turned into a full time position with the same company which further shows the value of this connection.
Linda, Boston University, MBA Graduate

My internship experience was tremendously valuable and it was structured to apply academic theory into “real world” scenarios with a business development project evaluating the global expansion for a therapeutic compound. I delivered the final report to the CEO, CFO, EVP's of a publically traded company, which is unprecedented access. They were impressed with the quality of the work I performed and gained insight by the analysis shared. Propel Careers helped me obtain this internship and for this, am very grateful for the experiences they provided me access to.

I think Propel Careers is an invaluable resource for the MBA student searching for an internship. They were instrumental in helping me obtain an internship at Halloran Consulting Group, a position that strengthened my business work experience. In addition, Propel Careers offers great networking opportunities, which I have found to be beneficial for both the internship and the full time job search.
